Teriyaki Flavor Sauce

Ingredients

Based on serving is 1 tablespoon servings per recipe.

  • 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons Sake or Mirin (Chinese sweet rice wine)
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 Garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon (or 2 slices) Ground ginger (or fresh ginger root)

Preparation

  1. Use light soy sauce or make your own (linked here).  Watch for potassium added in some very low sodium sauces
  2. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and heat until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Store in the refrigerator.
