(May 8, 2019): Northwest Kidney Centers, King County’s predominant provider of life-sustaining kidney dialysis, plans to add an outpatient clinic in south Everett, its first in Snohomish County.
The clinic is scheduled to open in late 2020 in the Everett Mall Office Park, 1010 SE Everett Mall Way, Suite 104, in south Everett, Wash.
“We look forward to promoting the optimal health, quality of life and independence of our neighbors in Everett and south Snohomish County who live with chronic kidney disease,” said Joyce F. Jackson, president and CEO of Northwest Kidney Centers.
The new clinic will be the 20th for Northwest Kidney Centers. The nonprofit dialysis provider now operates clinics in King, Pierce and Clallam counties. It also plans to open new facilities later in 2019 in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood and in Burien.
The state Department of Health announced its intention to grant approval of the new Everett clinic on May 3. The clinic will accommodate 54 patients to visit three times a week for blood-cleansing treatments that take about four hours each time.
The clinic is being designed by Mahlum Architects, Inc. and will be constructed by general contractor Aldrich + Associates. It is expected to open in late fall 2020.
The clinic and support space total 7,310 square feet with room for future expansion. Besides performing dialysis, staff members will train patients who wish to do dialysis themselves at home, and will offer community education with free classes for people with serious kidney problems. The clinic eventually may have up to 13 full-time employees.
Northwest Kidney Centers is the nation’s 8th-largest dialysis provider. It ranks at the top of the industry in Medicare quality ratings for its services, earning 4.46 out of 5 stars.
