Registered Dietitian
Responsibilities
The Registered Dietitian (RD) is responsible to the Nutrition and Fitness Services Manager for therapeutic nutrition and fitness care and dietary education of NKC patients. The RD is part of the interdisciplinary team (IDT), and is responsible for providing each patient with an individualized and comprehensive assessment of his or her needs, a plan of care in accord with Conditions of Coverage and appropriate quality patient care.The RD evaluates the patient's nutritional status, and uses the comprehensive assessment to develop and implement the patient's treatment plan. The RD serves on the QAPI team, and helps design and implement interventions to improve patient outcomes. This position is responsible for coordinating nutrition and fitness care with the patient, care providers and internal and external members of the health care team.
Requirements
The RD must be registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and the equivalent of one-year prior professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian, unless otherwise stated or exempted.
Must have keyboarding skills and the ability to learn new software relevant to work as RD at NKC. Valid Washington State Driver's License, evidence of car insurance and ability to travel to other NKC facilities, as required.
Shift
Variable hours, 32 hours per week. Minimum 1 year previous clinical experience after passing the registration exam with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Travel to multiple units req.
