Our Nutrition And Fitness Team

The Northwest Kidney Centers Nutrition and Fitness Team is specially trained to help you be more fit.

If you are a patient at one of our dialysis centers, our experienced fitness experts will meet with you regularly. We'll use a variety of tools to evaluate your fitness level. This assessment includes measuring your handgrip and leg strength. We’ll also ask you complete an opinion survey to rate your quality of life.

If you are not as fit as you would like to be, we can make valuable suggestions. We are glad to share a variety of information with you, including exercise brochures and videotapes.

We can also suggest to your doctor that you be referred to physical or exercise therapy. Our exercise department has a current list of therapists in your area who have received training about the special fitness needs of dialysis patients.

NKC staff will be happy to give you brochures, handouts, posters, exercise bands, squeeze balls, Internet Web sites and resource information.  We can also loan you videotapes to help you get on the road to fitness.  Better health is on the way!
